FTL: Faster Than Light

Postby DJDrDamage » Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:09 am

I saw Keith also had the game, "FTL: Faster Than Light", from Steam.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/212680/

great game but I have decided to give it a break for a day or two after getting a saw index finger- lots of point and click...

what do you think, keith? is it just me or is this really a tough game to master.
anyone else had a look?

This is my favourite indie game from last year. Your right though I have been playing it for ages and have only been able to get to the 7th sector on normal. I tried it on easy once and went through to the end first go but that felt like cheating. The difficulty is part of the games charm. I read somewhere that they are working on a iPad version which would be fun.

i have only made it to sector 5 on Easy...i must just be useless or too eager to engage enemies or to spend my Scrap...
although, the last game i was doing well but got trapped by the route I took and then ended up having to backtrack into the Rebel areas for three Jumps...that worked for two jumps but was not so lucky on the third time, which as the EXIT...

i also just realised that there is never a good time to pick the crazy guy up...

Ah the crazy guy - I always bring him on board in the belief that *this* time things will be different - but it never is.

The number of ways you can lose in that game is one of its charms - suffocation, slaughtered by boarders, fire, blown up, run out of fuel, the list goes on an on.......

The iPad version is out now - wonder how far it will fly when I fling it across the bus in frustration?

you can't play FTL on the bus...you need to be totally zen when facing the hordes of schoolies...
and the hordes of schoolies are no help when trying to be zen whilst playing FTL...

it's lose-lose...

This is a must buy for the iPad - a seamless port from the PC - my little iPad mini runs it no problems. If you don't have this little gem of a game yet this is the perfect entry point.

FTL got me through about 30 hours of flying in the last few weeks. Very addictive.

Kerbal Space Program has been my "alternative go-to" game lately. Good for winding down when you need a break from the adrenalin.

saw that game
I was not sure if it was for kids or not. it's hard to tell with the breeders in BuddaBudda if it is you or your kids playing the games.

The kids like to try building rockets to watch them explode, but playing it properly is a lot like brain surgery.
