Well, after 10 years I'm finally retiring the current BuddaBudda server this weekend. In that whole time it's been running an overclocked Celeron 300 @ 450Mhz. In the days when I first started overclocking it there were lots of discussions about how overclocking would drastically shorten the lifespan of CPU's. Funny thing, that doesn't seem to be a point of contention regarding overclocking anymore
Anyway, the current server will be migrated as a guest to the new Hyper-V server, and then all the bits and pieces it's running will be moved over to latest and greatest version on other servers. Any issues or wierd quirks you notice, please let me know.
Once I turn it off and the sound of those dual-CPU turbo fans will cease and my computer room will be so quite I probably won't be able to sleep. I've gotten so used to hearing the fan hum as an indicator of server up time.
