BF2142 - Magic Moments

Postby Mort » Sat Oct 07, 2006 8:24 pm

Probably a bit too soon for us to really know if we have had a "magic moment" on BF2142 yet, but it's here for when you are ready...

Actually, I got one.

My first kill... actually I think this is pretty special considering how different the weapons seem to behave.

Nah, the first knife kill gets you there. Just a shame that the dog tags don't persist in the demo.

I thought I had an appetite for destruction, but all I wanted was a club sandwich.

Yeah, got my fist knife kill as well... chasing a guy around at 8fps while he's busily trying to reload his shotgun that he had just completely missed me with...

I was going to offer dropping by with a DVD of my EADownloader cache but it sounds like you finally fixed it. Patched to 1.01 as well?

Yup, I decided to just have a shot at installing it before I went to bed as I have been for the last week. This time it happened to work, but I was way too tired to try playing a game.

My Vet name worked though, so I'm happy about that.

I think my vet name must have worked, but not for the name I expected, as johnselmann started with an immediate 40 points, and I received two unlocks for the first rank up.

To stop me playing BF2 by any chance? :)

Getting 2 knife kills in a row. The dog tag animation makes it that much more satisfying.

Got my first knife kill last night on the full version.

On the Titan, I heard a "swoosh" sound a couple of times and turned around to find a guy trying to stab me, so I whipped out my knife and we started chasing each other around until I got the lucky hit in. All this at a glorious 12-20 fps!

Brad was just standing by watching (thanks for the help!). So he probably figured it would either be fun to see me get the guy, or that he would be able to mop up afterwards if I lost.

Hey I wasn't going to deprive you of the dog tags - I'm up to about 20 tags. And I'm very wary of TKs in 2142 - they are relatively more punative than bf2. (ie 3x kill score).

Third knife kill tonight. Saw a guy running down the hill towards the APC I was riding in. Suddenly he fuzzes out and goes invisible. When the gun I was on couldn't get a bead I decided to jump out and chase him with a knife...

First stab and wham... Nice pretty "dQx2142" Dog tags appear on my screen... sweet :)
