Played through the first couple of levels - assume it gets harder the further along you go although some of the jumping puzzles required a few goes to get the timing right.

Ep 2 looks like more of the same but I will stay play through it. There is a new demo man movie out for TF2 as well which is pretty funny.

Well, timed perfectly and finished Portal on the stroke of mid-night. Not really all that hard but great fun. I'll probably play around with the bonus levels now... I was under the impression though that there would be a multi-player Portal or something? If there is I seem to not be noticing how you play it :(

Now I just need to finish HL2:E1 and then start HL2:E2.

An interesting take on Portal

And there's supposed to be a map editor, and from what I've noticed you can "load" map files, so I'm guessing we'll start seeing people making their own levels for other people to try and work out.

Getting to terminal velocity is fun though.

Have you managed the 30,000 foot drop acheivement? I tried setting up a couple of portals that I just kept falling through and left it for about 5 minutes but that didn't seem to count. :(

It takes slightly over 5 minutes. I was feeling anal and calculated it. (That was for a fairly small drop - it was easier to estimate how far I was falling that way.) But it still didn't give me the achievement...

Try the advanced levels and some of the challenge levels (I like the least portals challenges)

Well, I finished HL2:E1 the other night.. so now its time to get E2 out of the way...

(gotta say, the bit where you have to help some citizens across to the train, then do it again, and again, and again, and again was getting pretty tedious. almost gave up thinking I was either doing something wrong, or thinking about cutting a deal with the bad guys and just handing the whole bloody lot over to them!

Just finished HL2:E2. As far as story lines go, Valve actually do a pretty good job. Sometimes I dread the "do this hard thing, and do it again, and again, and again" as the end of level challenges, but other than that it's amazing how much variation of scenery and game play they fit into a game.

So, HL2:E3 shuold be out sometime next week yeah?
