Seems to be a pretty common issue.

Woohoo, there's a bug I don't have!

Ah, the Gunner spots I've jumped into lately have all been zoom optics, so maybe I've just been lucky so far.
I realise coding for game engines like this must be incredibly complicated, but I just don't understand how bugs like this get introduced to something that was working, and why the effect they have is as severe as a total crash.

And another update - 395MB

(I'm not bothering to count them anymore, lost track)
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/fo ... 838365687/

Says it has the fix for the gunner seat thing. No memory leak fix for my specific issue, the mantle card memory leak is a different issue which I don't have to worry about at least.

We’ve started rolling out a new Battlefield 4 game update on PC. You may experience some downtime during this rollout, as we are also updating the game servers. As usual, it will take a few hours before the majority of servers are updated.

Feb 13 PC Game Update Notes
-General stability improvements
-Fix for an issue where spawning into, or switching to, a gunner seat in an IFV/MBT sometimes could cause the game to crash
-Fix for missing sound in Team/Squad Deathmatch
-Fix for an issue in the Defuse game mode, where a bomb carrier would be permanently spotted
-Decreased the rate at which the kill card would incorrectly display 0 health, while the enemy was clearly alive
-Fix for an invisible wall that was incorrectly present in one of the fallen concrete pipes on Zavod 311
-Fix for an issue where bullet impact sounds weren’t properly matching the actual number of impacts
-Fix for an issue where the “Draw” message would not display on-screen once a Conquest round ended with both teams having the same amount of tickets
-Fix for an issue where long IDs wouldn’t scroll on dog tags
-Fix for missing grass physics in terrain

Mantle
-Fix for a crash that would occur when activating full screen in portrait mode
-Fix for stuttering that could appear during video sequences on multi-GPU PCs
-Fix for a memory system leak that could cause stalls, which would result in frames taking longer to process
-Reduced the amount of stalls that occurred when running with high graphics setting that require more GPU memory than is currently available
-Fixed screenshots on multi-GPU PCs

would you believe... there's some new bugs.

I get a killer sound loop bug requiring me to task manager kill the game. Happened within 30 seconds on Dawnbreaker (I hate that map anyway) and seems to be the same for many others as well.

I think TitanFall is planning to fill that gap.

Second Assault has arrived for the Premium early access. About 5.3GB download.

I haven't tried it yet and not going to bother until the sound loop bug is patched. Happening to people on the new pack as well so I'm not going to waste my time on it.

I've been playing SA -
Firestorm is identical, I think...
Caspian is much the same, except the wire fences have become concrete walls with guard towers.
Oman is better because a sand storm blows in midway through the round and your visibility drops to zero, so all the snipers pack up and go home.
Metro has extra doors, and lifts from the toilets below B up to the top of the escalator. Still a similar dynamic though - get to B and point whore for the rest of the round.

I jumped on last night as well - as you said nothing particularly new here. Caspian has a cool underground section at D (? - the point on the top of the hill) which takes you underneath the road. The game crashed for me twice on Omah when the sandstorm came up. Naval Strike should be more interesting.

You can burn the snipers on the tops of the tank on Firestorm by pressing the switches at the bottom of them... hoah!
I haven't been at D on Caspian yet - seem to spend all my time at A -C - E
Metro has some handy new corridors on the side, giving extra pathways to B from both A & C, but they're still choke points.
C is still stupidly choked, so if you get backed up, leave the server.
Oman is great, especially if you lug around the limpet mines :)

just tried oman the other day- definitely need to carry limpet mines next time. i really liked the sandstorm effect. just the environmental effects gives more realism to the scene.
