RSS development update

Postby Mort » Fri Feb 22, 2008 1:59 pm

Greetings all,

I am currently trying out a Beta version of the RSS code on the test forums, so any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated by the developer.

If you are interested in helping me test, please let me know and I'll give you the run down on how to set it up.

It's been a while since I've had any time to spend on looking at the RSS feed, but things are looking good! I've just tested out the lasted Release Candidate and it might be good enough to run on the prod board... So hopefully in the next week or so we'll get RSS back on again.

RSS feeds are back! I've just installed the RC2 version coz it seems to have all the security sorted out, and has the features working that we need.

If you find any issues, please let me know so I can pass them back to the developer.

Working well for me. I had to go back and regenerate the RSS feed string for me - the old one actually gives an error. Once I had done that, it is working well in Google reader.

Yup, that's coz it's a different encryption system so it needs to regenerate the URL.

Are you seeing the same issue as Ed when viewing it in Google?

I just set it up as a google feed and it works fine for me... maybe just try removing it and re-adding it?

Select the stream and edit the preferences. You can change the title of the feed there. Not sure why it isn't picking it up correctly in the first instance - it worked fine for me - but it is easy to fix.
