Baseline score pre upgrade

3D Mark06
3DMark Score - 25,424.0 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score 9893.0
HDR/SM3.0 Score 12516.0
CPU Score 6676.0

Slight increase from my last score.

3d Mark11
P5854
Graphics Score 5711
Physics Score 6965
Combined Score 5568

Now I just have to find time to do the upgrade!

Post graphics card

3d mark 11
P12088 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970(1x) and Intel Core i5-2500K Processor
Graphics Score 15770
Physics Score 7015
Combined Score 7257

3d mark06
27837 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970(1x) and Intel Core i5-2500K Processor
SM2.0 Score 10553
HDR/SM3.0 Score 14585
CPU Score 6762

I would call that a reasonable increase although much more noticeable in 11 as opposed to 06.

New PC, getting ready for rift...
No overclocking yet - still waiting for a few bits, although everything is water cooled.
i7-6700K, 32Gb, Nvidia GTX 980Ti (Gigabyte G1), Asus Z170 MB.

The gigabyte software seems to overclock the GPU without asking though - running at 1353/1752 Mhz according to AIDA64.

3DMark11

3DMark Score P18392
Graphics Score 24997
Physics Score 10176
Combined Score 10388
GraphicsTest1 116.35 FPS
GraphicsTest2 121.43 FPS
GraphicsTest3 158.22 FPS
GraphicsTest4 73.24 FPS
PhysicsTest 32.31 FPS
CombinedTest 48.32 FPS

So, 3 years from when the last parts were added on the old PC, to double the benchmark score. I think that last machine is the longest I have ever gone without an upgrade.

Without overclocking the CPU yet, the i7-6700K @ 4gHz is only 19% faster than the (5 Year old!!) overclocked i7-920 @ 4gHz it replaces.

I thought I had an appetite for destruction, but all I wanted was a club sandwich.
